For Elementary:
This month, elementary kids will be introduced to Saul. In foolishness, God’s people begged for a king like the nations around them. Though Israel rejected God as their king, God mercifully warned them and gave them the king they desired—King Saul. However, despite Saul’s regal appearance, his foolish disobedience led to God’s rejection of him as king. Instead, God replaced him with a man after His own heart to rule His people.

 Big Picture Question: Who is our King? Jesus is our King forever, and He rules over the world.

Key Passage: The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all. (Psalm 103:19)

Preschool: 
Preschoolers will be saying, “Oh Wow!” this June as we teach the Simple Truth, “God Made Me Special.” We will teach preschoolers that God made them original, on purpose, talented, and valuable. We will end with a special Hooray Day session where preschoolers will learn that God says they matter. 

Theme Verse: “We all are the work of  Your hands.” (Isaiah 64:8b)

Oh Wow! God Made me special:

  • He gave gifts, and they can use these gifts to celebrate God and help others.
  • They are here for a reason, loved deeply, and meant to make a difference in their own special way.
  • They can use their talents to praise God and point others to Him.
  • God thinks they are special, and they are treasured by Him.

About the Author

Sophie Allers

Sophie has an enthusiastic heart for kids of all ages. She is originally from Chester County, PA, where she was raised by parents who worked for the church. Children's Ministry has impacted Sophie's life deeply and she strives to create an atmosphere where kids can learn about God in fun and engaging ways.

After years of involvement in Children's Ministry at her church, Sophie studied Elementary Education at Cairn University and is currently working on her Master's Degree. She has taught a variety of ages, including second grade at a small Christian school. She is passionate about instilling the love of God and a biblical worldview into her ministry, as well as partnering with parents to support them in raising God-loving kids. Sophie joined our team in March of 2022.

Sophie and her husband, Andrew, have three children, Lucy, Theo, and Ben. They enjoy playing outside, cooking together, and serving together at church.
