Questions About Baptism
Q: I was baptized before, should I be baptized again?
A: Yes. If you were baptized as an infant or as a child, or before you trusted Christ, you should be baptized. However, if you were baptized as a believer at another church, you don't have to be baptized again at Grace Point.
Q: How do I know if my child is ready to be baptized?
A: We wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before they are baptized. We have a great booklet for parents to go through with their kids to see if they're ready for baptism. Also, we don't baptize children without their parents' consent.
Q: Does baptism forgive me of my sins?
A: No, trusting Jesus forgives your sins. Baptism is a public declaration of your decision to trust and follow Jesus.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all righteousness." 1 John 1:9 ESV
Q: What if my family doesn't approve of me being baptized?
A: Baptism is a personal choice you make between you and God to publicly share with the world that you're a follower of Jesus. But we know that not everyone will approve. We would love to talk with you about how to have a conversation with your family and others who might not approve of your choice to be baptized.
Q: What do I need to do in order to be baptized at Grace Point?
A: Use the sign-up button above to let us know you are interested, and one of our pastors will give you a call. They'll discuss with you the importance of baptism and why you want to be baptized.
