easter offering 2024

Each year, we designate our Easter Offering towards meeting needs outside of our church family. Our mission values include the Gospel, Life Change and Generosity. It is always exciting to see how God inspires and moves our church family to give generously for these special offerings, helping to bring much-needed aid to those in need.

This year, the first $25,000 of the Easter Offering will be designated to Worthwhile Wear's WorthIt program. Funds raised above $25,000 will be directed toward Grace Point's General Fund.

Human trafficking is the second-largest criminal industry in the world, with over 800,000 people trafficked against their will across international borders each year. Worthwhile Wear is an organization in our community that is tackling one of the most challenging issues of our time by using a multi-pronged approach: provide vocational training and employment, long-term housing, and community outreach and empowerment programs. Founders Dan and Stephanie Emr and their team bring awareness and action on behalf of survivors.

Worthwhile Wear offers two crucial programs to help bring recovery and hope to survivors of human trafficking; Worth It and The Well.

The Worth It program is a series of classroom experiences designed for women who have experienced sexual trauma from exploitation, trafficking or prostitution. The goal is to help participants connect with area service providers, maintain sobriety, and ultimately break the cycle of exploitation. Trauma is often the primary underlying factor that causes or perpetuates many societal issues like addiction, unemployment, fractured relationships and maladaptive behaviors. Worthwhile Wear believes healing begins when trauma is identified and addressed, and when meaningful relationships are made. Effectively, for $2,500, one can see a life full of heartache and abuse change to one full of hope and promise found only in Christ. Worthwhile Wear is looking to launch two more sites on Kensington Ave. in Philadelphia this year, along with expanding their classes in the Bucks County Prison system. The Worth It program includes the following for each woman who attends:

  • Free lunch and snacks
  • Transportation to and from class if needed
  • Certificate of Completion and graduation gift recognizing her efforts and success
  • Continued follow-up from the Worth It staff to encourage and support each woman along her journey of recovery
  • Consideration for Worthwhile Wear's long-term housing program, The Well
  • Community resources and connections to help her build a meaningful support network
