We’ve long been a part of the local community here in the Newtown area. Before we became known as Grace Point, we were the First Baptist Church of Newtown. The church was originally founded on Sunday, September 22, 1901, following a preaching service by Rev. E. C. Romine at Newtown Hall. On the following day the church was recognized as a Baptist church by the Council of Baptist Churches. Romine, of Philadelphia, had preached in the Langhorne and Newtown areas for several months previously and was instrumental in the formation of the church.

Rev. C. W. Teasdale was called in November as the first pastor of the church. Our first building was constructed in 1905 on State Street in Newtown Borough, and we expanded it several times before recognizing in the early 1990s that it could no longer support our long-term mission. After several years of planning, construction of our new campus began in early 2003, and we moved into our new location at the intersection of Washington Crossing and Stoopville Roads in July of 2004. Our name then became First Baptist Church of Newtown at Grace Point. Since then, we've become known as Grace Point.
Here's a short video about the history of our church.
